Hackathon: Now Stream Torrent Streamer for iPhone and iPad Demoed

An iPhone and iPad app that allows you to stream any type of torrent was demoed this past weekend at the Tech Crunch Hackthon. TC reports that “Carnegie Mellon student and a future Google intern Sohail Prasad built a working torrent streamer.” The software is a simple app that you copy and paste a torrent link into, then it begins streaming it instantly. In the case of the video, it’s a video. It’s not out yet, and whether or not it will be on an iOS device that is not jailbroken remains to be seen, but Sohail Prasad, the developer of the Now Stream app has launched a beta notification website to see who is interested at nowstre.am.
