Metro's LTE network is spectrum contrained so that's why it's slow, but as they move to voice over LTE, they'll be able to migrate their CDMA existing spectrum to LTE and their speeds will pick up dramatically, but for now their LTE speeds are barely comparable to 2G. AT&T and T-Mobile haven't launched LTE they're just ramping up their existing networks, and calling it 4G. Which is misleading. Verizon is only carrier out there with a true 4G network right now. LTE is the future. Keep in mind what LTE stands for - Long Term Evolution. Bottom Line people – LTE is 4G and that’s all there is to it.
