I was thinking about getting an i-pad because of the hype, but after reading all the comments here i have changed my mind.
I hate Microsoft with a passion and can’t wait for Ubuntu to evolve, most ppl i know feel the same, and i do not need another greedy monopolizing company in my life.
Viva the Ubuntu revolution!!!

No, tablet are not new technology, I have had tablets with WinCE, Maemo OS2008/2010, WinXP, Win7
My first tablet was like almost 15 years ago.
The hardware of ipad or ipad2 is comparable to PC computer.(in fact they are registered as PC)
IOS is a striped down Mac OS.
the problem is the device hardware has that capability, but apple is not allow it to happen.
Flash does not necessary means videos.
there are websites that are created completely out of flash.
even if they only support partial flash content, still better than not having it at all.

Apple does not want Flash because if you have Flash and Air, you can launch free apps from a web site without having to go into Apple’s Apps store and pay for them. Baiscally, it is a great way for Apple to monopolize the market and still make profit.

Adobe arrogant?????? Dude, what about Apple and Steve Jobs?????? Arrogant as all can be. They do not play well with other companies at the user’s (experience) expence.

JavaScript cannot do all the things Falsh can do (Flash is more than just a video format…ya know). HTML5 is just starting to be developed and many of the things they talk about are not supported by most browsers. Bad developers in JavaScript cause as much crashing as bad developers in Flash.

If you want an all purpose computer, than get a pc or a laptop. An ipad is meant to be a device you can carry and do your work on as opposed to a heavy device that takes minutes to load. There is a reason you have to have a computer to own an ipad. And on a device like that, flash isnt necessary, apple put in simple drivers for apps and apps for programs that use flash so you can use them on your ipad. Some say that a 9.7 inch screen is to big, I beg to differ, sure they should offer a smaller edition for people who want that. I agree there are tablets that do more, remember this is a new technology, they will get better as we go, but Im going to use the tools provided, And if that tool allows me to work on my assignments, read a book, and access the web, I am probably going to take it.

i agree with you..apple should just worked with adobe to get flash working on the devices,but with adobe and google making it work where 10.1 inch tablets are getting 8-10 hours with full flash working…so i don’t see where apple has room to talk about flash being power hungry…and flash 10.2 is full optimize now for mobile devices like phones and tablets…since phones are going to dual core chip set flash is not even a problem to work on those devices…i feel apple will announce the ipad 2 and next iphone with dual core and flash…

are your aware that 84% of the web is flash base and 80% of all the games on android and IOS are adobe air games..so if you have a game on your smart phone and you like it a lot then maybe you should see what was used to make that game before making mindless comments…

then turn it off on your pc and then see how much you will need it..it makes no sense how people didn’t even bother to notice flash as long as it was working and now your telling me to pay $500 and above to kind of have the internet, and be stuck to youtube and netfilx only. Are you serious if microsoft sold you a pc without flash you would have a fit and now your saying you don’t need it…you would want to wait for an app to come out instead…this is the kind of single minded BS apple banks on….they will tell you what you need and you’ll like it…before posting again anywhere please go and checkout other tablets, play around with them a little bit then make comments…also if your over the age of 21 and your playing a game on a 9.7 inch device and your moving the tablet all crazy like a dumbass you need to be slapped…on a 7inch device ok that wouldn’t look to strange…but back to what i was saying make sure you checkout others first before you make a comment.

OK, … stream a webcam …. but this game is not useful.

It’s incredible important developers ensure they understand their users & stakeholders requirements and constraints and then decide on an implementation and not the decide on the implementation first.

Again both are great technologies … but any designer or developer that is dismissive against technologies without an honest look sells himself / herself (and more importantly the customer) short.

Flash should be on ipad so you can watch videos and play games, but its not absolutly necissary, if you want videos, watch you tube or netfilx, if you want games, buy game apps. Overall flash would enhance my web experience, but I don’t need it.
