Telus service has not been competent since they were Clearnet. Those were the days, great value on their plans, absolutely NO fine print (now they rival bell and rogers) and they has loyalty to their customers! Now all three are the same, lure people in with flashy phones, and hook them onto large contracts.

Wind mobile doesn't use contracts because they have this crazy notion that excellent service and completely unmatched value will keep people coming back for more. The fact that you can buy unlocked "flashy" phones from the USA doesn't phase them a bit.
