SensoGlove golf aid monitors ‘death grip’ with digital glove sensors
If I didn’t have my own collection of golf aids in the shed i’d probably scoff at the SensoGlove, but only with hopes to thwart the competition from gaining any competitive advantage over their game that I don’t have. This new “smart glove” is made by German Sensosolutions, who to my knowledge, have just entered the golfing world.
The SensoGlove is a custom glove with digital sensors built in, and a small computer LCD that shows grip pressure. Many golfers have too strong a grip, this claims to help you keep a constant even pressure and prevent over-squeezing.
“Every golfer wants to hit the ball far and the natural instinct is to swing harder and faster. But trying to swing with more power causes a death grip, creating tension in the hands, wrists, arms and shoulders. The result is a less than smooth swing and, even worse, tightened muscles. Tight muscles result in slower – not faster – club head speed.” said David Bauer, president of Sensosolutions.
For $89 it sounds like a great product, once you ease up on your death grip you’ll probably stop wearing through so many gloves. Even still, replacements will cost $25.
