Official: ViewSonic ViewPad 7 Android 2.2 tablet details released

Well, this is great news from ViewSonic. Their previously leaked ViewPad is now official, and we have more meat on the plate. It’s a 7” Android 2.2 (Froyo) tablet that will have an 800×600 LED-backlit display, front and back cameras (VGA and 3MP respectively), multi-tasking, and is actually a phone as well. You probably won’t be putting this brick up to your face, but it will make for great video conferencing calls or voice via a wired or Bluetooth headset. Expansion is in the form of Micro SD, 32GB internal storage, as well as a SIM card slot, Wi-Fi and 3G to boot. Of course there are USB ports, assisted GPS, and you know, that makes it the whole well-rounded iPad-wanna-be-killer tablet running Android we all dreamt of. The ViewPad 7 is expected to sell for “no more than £350 including Vat” and we have no exact date on that availability yet. Stay tuned for more from IFA.
