Samsung Epic 4G destined for Sprint

Samsung Epic 4G announced for Sprint

Giving the iPhone 4 a run for its money, the Samsung Epic 4G destined for Sprint brings dual cameras, with LED flash and HD (720p) video recording to the table. Running on Android 2.1, with a 2.2 update in the near future, and a 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen, 1GHz Hummingbird CPU, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, digital compass, proximity sensor, light sensor, GPS and six-axis motion sensor.

You can expect a price of $199 on a 2 year plan, with the $10 premium data add-on fee just like the EVO 4G.  WiFi 802.11 b/g/n hotspot support will let you share the network with five devices and connect to Sprint’s WiMAX 4G data networks with about 10 Mbps peak downloads (more like 3-6 Mbps average in real world usage).

Samsung Media Hub will be at the forefront of entertainment delivery for the Epic 4G.  This will give you access to video downloads, movies, TV shows and HD-like content either for rental or purchase.  Putting another nail in the Blockbuster coffin.  Some exclusive Android apps like Swype virtual keyboard, Instant e-Books and Asphalt 5 will be bundled.  Check it out in person at the Samsung Epic 4G launch event: www.sprint.com/epic4g.
