FarmVille spawns on the iPhone, crashing and freezing the newest feature

FarmVille released for the Apple iPhone

Let me preface this by saying that I am not a fan of any of those Facebook games. I don’t want to know about your new fish in your aquarium, and I am not at all interested in joining your Mafia family. Even so, it seems that these games are more popular than ever and none are quite as iconic as Farmville.  If you can’t get your farming addiction satiated through Facebook, then you’ll be glad to hear that you can take your rake on the go with Farmville for iPhone. This is a mobile version of the casual game, offering much the same functionality as its Facebook counterpart.

For those of you who have already wasted dedicated countless hours to your Facebook-hosted farm, you’ll be glad to hear that you won’t need to start again from scratch. The iPhone game will access your existing farm; if you’re new to the field, you can create a new farm.

As such, FarmVille for iPhone is not a completely separate game; it’s just another way to access the existing one. In this way, you need to have a Facebook account to play. And yes, it’s still free to play.  A look at early user reviews on iTunes shows an astonishing 49% of users are having problems ranging from crashes, to the app not even loading.  This is even in iOS 4.  Lucky it’s a free download.

  1. Farmville is so addicting that my office just hold up Facebook in our network cause most workers spend half of their working hours logged in. One time, our CEO was roaming in the money management office and to his dismay, every person is playing Farmville. The following day, we we were not able to access the website and there was a message circulating about disallowance of social network sites and instant messengers.
