I currently have a Blackberry Pearl Flip and LOVE it!!! Never owned a smartphone until the Pearl Flip and am devasted at the thought that I may have to purchase a regular, unprotected, easy to scratch/butt dial smart phone. Would love to stay with the Blackberry flip if possibe. Throwing a phone in my purse could cause a lot of damage if it wasn't a flip (although wonder if it's possible to come out with a flip smartphone with a touch screen!?!) Needless to say, if there is not a flip, I will probably go with a droid platform and nix the BB altogether.

Will this phone be coming to Telus soon? I hope so. Am wanting a smartphone, but dont want to worry about protecting the exposed screen/pocket dialing. I like flip phones!! I'd go for the Pearl Flip but don't like the condensed keyboard, trackball, and low grade camera.

I have been researching phones a lot lately and what I find absurd is how many comments are about how important a phone looks.Good grief, its a device of convenience, not a fashion accessory! As if I care how I look on a date using a phone, or, that I might not impress someone because of the way my phone looks (I would also consider anyone who passed judgement on me based on the look of my phone to be rather shallow).

I don't see how this model looks unappealing (and no, I don't think clamshells are so 2006). It is its quality and practicality which attracts me. Good for RIM for being intelligent enough to acknowledge that some of us prefer functionality over how good we look when texting in public.

I have some hearing loss and have never managed to find a bluetooth device that is worth the discomfort & hassle. Flip phones generally have better sound quality in my experience. I am very interested in this phone (I currently have the BB Pearl Flip), would love to be done with Suretype and the pearl ball that I find hard to control in tabbed apps & such. Also as the klutzy mother of soon to be 3 small children (eldest will be 6 at the end of the month, 3rd due any day now), there's no way I'll do a touchscreen phone anytime soon - it'd be broken too fast.
