Apple today officially announced that on Friday, April 30, Wi-Fi + 3G models of the magical iPad will be delivered to US customers who pre-ordered the device before April 3rd. It will also be in Apple stores the same day after 5:00pm.
A higher demand for the iPad caused a delay in international shipments. Estimates show over 600,000 units were sold in the first six days of sales, that’s a good number, and doesn’t include those waiting for the 3G version.
Apple will announce international pricing and begin taking online pre-orders for the iPad on May 10. Shipments to Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK are now officially expected to happen at the end of May.
