Nokia X6 16GB in North America by “end of February 2010″

Tags: , ,

Nokia has yet another hot new cell phone for you to consider and it’s got a big touchscreen to go with its loads of internal storage. The Nokia X6 is now reportedly available at Nokia’s flagship stores as well as for pre-order online Nokia’s website. So, if you happen to find yourself in Chicago or New York, feel free to open up your wallet, otherwise sit back and wait for your shipment that ships by the “end of February 2010.”

Coming with a sticker price of $455, the Nokia X6 16GB features a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display and it runs on the newer Symbian^1 platform. Also, as its name implies, there is 16GB of internal memory for all your storage needs.

Running through the rest of the spec sheet on this iPhone alternative, you find a 5-megapixel camera, 3G connectivity, on-screen keyboard, microUSB connector, integrated Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, aGPS with Ovi Maps 3.0, and a secondary front-facing camera. I wonder if the recently released Ovi Maps game Space Impact: Meteor Shield will work on the x6? It utilizes the phones digital compass sensor ( or ‘magnetometer’ as it’s otherwise known) where you control the turret by tilting the phone and blasting away.

  1. Johnny Tremaine Says:

Memo to Michael Kwan: Nokia closed down all their flagship stores in the U.S. last year.

The only way to buy an X6 in the U.S. is via an online store, sight unseen.

I just got through a half dozen documentaries and videos that I’ve been meaning to get to for months now. How I did it? The Just Mobile UpStand and a bit of help from CineXplayer. Now that my iPad conveniently sits next to my monitor in seemingly perfect viewable angle, I can let those videos play as I work during the day.

The iPad has established itself as one of the coolest gadgets of the year, and is a must have if you love Apple. Its large display, crystal clear screen, and a multitude of features make it one of the most impressive tablets on the market. Check out Mobile Magazine’s iPad review here. However, like all iDevices, they do leave something to be desired in the area of durability.
