Taiwanese manufacturer Asus who pioneered the netbook concept, has just released few details of its new DR-570 e-book reader. DR-570 is still in development but is said to have a 5.7-inch OLED display, sharp 1024×768 resolution, a 0.03 second refresh rate with high-brightness and contrast. Storage will be by flash memory, bundled with a 4GB SDHC card and packing 512MB of RAM. Under real-world conditions, the 1530 mAh battery is said to run an astonishing 122 hours on just one charge.
It will be able to stream Flash video over its integrated WiFi or 3G connection. The DR-570 is set to be released by the end of 2010, with no exact price tag yet. While we would usually expect it to cost a bundle, we are hoping that by being an ASUS brand we might be able to afford one of these.
