Light Blue Optics’ Light Touch turns any surface into a touchscreen display

Light Blue Optics is a small startup company at the CES show this year and is making quite an impression.

We dreamed of it about 8 years ago, the Virtual Keyboard, but now it’s been taken to a whole new level. Light Blue Optics (LBO) announced – Light Touch – an interactive projector that turns any flat surface into a 10″ touch screen. Light Touch utilizes LBO’s holographic laser projection technology (HLP™) creating bright, high-quality WVGA resolution video images, in focus, on a virtual 10” touch screen. HLP enables extremely wide throw angles, resulting in large images being created at close proximity to the projector, enabling table-top projection.

Light Touch runs Adobe Flash Lite 3.1, WiFi & Bluetooth connectivity and connects to the Internet. It is equipped with 2GB of onboard Flash memory, has a Micro SD card slot that supports up to 32GB. Light Touch can be wall or battery powered, with a 2 hours run-time before recharging is required.

HLP received a Class 1 laser safety classification making it eye safe.
