HI THERE IT IS VERY TRUE THAT 8 GB IPOD TOUCH IS $199 32 GB FOR $299 AND THE 64 GB IPOD TOUCH IS ACTUALY $399 AND I WAS THE FIRST IN LINE TOO BUY THE 64 GB IPOD TOUCH THAT WAS 2 WEEKS AGO AND HAVE NOT FINISH PUTING IT DOWN BUT NO 16 GB IPOD TOUCH DONT NO WHY BUT I LIKE THE BIGGEST FLASH PLAYER ON THE PLANET WHY HAS NO ONE ELSE RELEASED A 64 GB FLASH MP3 PLAYER WITH INTERNET APPS GAMES VDIO

Two words: sound quality. Not to mention superior hardware, battery life and software(now it is, at least, the original software was awful). Free firmwares updates is another pro as is the fact that the zune team supports the older devices still(won't matter much if the zune becomes extinct). I personally prefer the looks, but that's subjective. Really, if you have to choose a closed ecosystem, it's just about what better suits your needs. Do you want a pda-like device, or a music player? I personally want a music player, but I know most people at the moment want an all-in-one.

A larger screen, more storage, an app store with over 65,000 apps, a built in camera that does video… Why would anyone buy the Zune HD over the iPod Touch 3G?

I’ll spend the extra $19 for a 16GB zune HD. Better features, zune pass, hdmi, OLED. Why would someone even buy an iPod now?
