Touch Book Tablet Netbook from Always Innovating Starts Shipping

Touch Book Tablet Netbook from Always Innovating Starts ShippingDo you remember Always Innovating? Do you remember the company’s unique take on the netbook market, offering a modular approach that would have a removable touchscreen display somewhat separate from the keyboard? Well, the so-called Touch Book is now shipping to anyone who placed a pre-order.

As you may recall, the whole point of this product from Always Innovating is that it is completely modular. If all you need is a big (8.9-inch) touchscreen, you can do that. When you need a keyboard, you can slide it into place and you’ve got a netbook.

Taking a quick tour of the spec sheet, we find a TI OMAP3530 processor, 512MB of RAM, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 8GB of on-board flash storage. Rounding it all out are seven USB ports (four internal), an accelerometer, stereo speakers, and a custom operating system.

If you already placed a pre-order, you should be receiving your new Touch Book soon. If you’re suddenly interested in buying one, you might have a shot at getting one too. The tablet-only solution is $299 and then you can add on the keyboard half for an extra $100.
