lgsmartIs that a Samsung BlackJack that I see there? No. Is that a Nokia E71 rearing its head on the Internet again? No. You may quite easily confuse this phone with those other two handsets, but LG’s got a QWERTY packing smartphone of its own in the form of the LG GM550.

I’m pretty certain that this isn’t LG’s first foray into this kind of market, but we’ve seen far more QWERTY “dumb” phones from LG around these parts than those of the bar-style smartphone variety. I guess LG wants some corporate business as well.

Going through the specs on the LG GM550 smartphone, you’ll find that it comes with Windows Mobile 6.1, a full QWERTY keyboard, 3 megapixel camera, 2.4-inch landscape display, 7.2Mbps HSDPA and a 1300 mAh battery.

There’s a distinct possibility that this could be a phone reserved for the Korean market, as is the case with so much from companies like Samsung and Pantech, but LG might bring the GM550 to our shores too. We hear it has “global 3G” after all.
