Super Talent 512GB SSD Sees Light of Day

One of the reasons why someone may choose to stick with conventional hard drives over solid state drives is the former typically offers a lot more storage capacity. That trend is quickly changing and Super Talent has reached an incredible new milestone with the introduction of a 2.5-inch 512GB SSD.

A part of the company’s MasterDrive RX family, the new 512GB solid state drive uses Super Talent’s proprietary RAIDSSD Technology. They claim an estimated maximum read speed of up to 230MB/sec and a maximum write speed of 160MB/sec. That’s with sequential data.

Using MLC NAND Flash, the Super Talent MasterDrive RX solid state drives are also available in 128GB and 256GB variations as well, in case you don’t want want to fork over the big bucks for the monstrous 512GB offering. These smaller drives also have a slightly faster sequential write speed of 200MB/sec.

Get ready to save those pennies if you want to have this beast of a solid state drive, because the 512GB MasterDrive RX SSD is listed at a whopping $1499.
