I ordered two Powersticks after reading a positive review in the New York Times. One of them functions fine but the other charged only once to twice and then stopped working. I tried the fixes discussed on the Ecosol website but to no avail. I contacted the company and received a nice note inviting me to send the defective unit back for replacement. I followed the instructions I received and sent the defective one back in early May 2009. I didn't hear anything for two months so I contacted the company again via email. After waiting several days for a reply, I wrote a couple additional emails. When I finally received a reply, I was not give any reason for the delayed response. Moreover, the company representative informed me that my defective unit had never been received. Though I can prove I sent the package, I cannot prove it was received. (I probably should have sent it registered mail but was not instructed to do so by the company representative). I have received no response to two follow-up emails I have sent in the past two weeks.

Bottom line: I have enjoyed my operational Powerstick but my experience with a defective unit and with the company make me reluctant to recommend it. If you do purchase one, keep your receipts. If you have trouble, return the unit through registered mail. Perhaps you will have better luck than I have. I plan to order my next portable charger from another company.
