In case you haven’t figured it out already, the BlackBerry Storm is designed to do more than just answer phone calls and send e-mails. TeleNav is a trusted name when it comes to mobile navigation, so it’s good to see the GPS stuff for the BlackBerry Storm is just as robust.

What you see here is one of the first looks at the TeleNav-powered GPS navigation application for the touchscreen-equipped BlackBerry Storm. As you can see from this image, the large buttons make it quite easy to use the app through fingers alone.

TeleNav is the same company that powers the branded navigation apps for AT&T (Navigator) and Sprint (Navigation). The TeleNav app for the Storm shown here will come with the version that goes with the Verizon BlackBerry Storm.

The Boy Genius is so impressed with this application that he is considering using the Storm as a replacement GPS unit for the standalone in the car. “It’s that good.” The application is “super polished and extremely well thought out.”
