There are regular iPod speaker docks and then there is the Sonic Chair, a seat that literally engulfs you in your tunes. As if that weren’t enough, the Sonic Chair is now available with a touchscreen iMac upgrade.

Sitting in the pod and bobbing your head to your music can be quite the enjoyable experience, but you may get a little bored with just music. The new Sonic Chair Touch takes the experience several steps further by implementing a 20-inch iMac that also happens to have a touchscreen. In this way, you don’t need to fumble with a mouse and keyboard either.

You still get all the standard built-in speakers and input jacks that you had with the original Sonic Chair, but the Sonic Chair Touch has the iMac 20-inch touchscreen on a swivel arm so that you can surf the web, rifle through your Google Reader, and fire off a few quick tweets exclaiming your overwhelming joy.

In terms of the iMac itself, you get a 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 1GB of RAM, 250GB hard drive, 8x SuperDrive, and ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT graphics. The touchscreen interface is pretty nifty too.

We haven’t found a price point for the Sonic Chair Touch just yet, but I’m thinking that the updated version will run at least an extra two grand compared to the regular Sonic Chair.
