Many smartphones on the market are still stuck with crappy QVGA displays. The BlackBerry Bold pushes it a little further with HVGA and the HTC Touch HD went even further with WVGA. All of those pale in comparison to the newly announced Sharp Aquos Fulltouch 931SH, a touchscreen smartphone with a truly remarkable 1024×480 display.

Yes, it may have the same number of pixels on the vertical access as the HTC Touch HD, but it’s a couple hundred pixels wider across its 3.8-inch touchscreen. Better still, this fantastic phone comes with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, truly offering you the best of both worlds. Other features include a 1Seg TV tuner and 5 megapixel camera.

That’s the good news. The bad news, unless you happen to roam in Tokyo, is that the Sharp Aquos Fulltouch 931SH is only available through Softbank Japan.
