You know how people are saying that things aren’t quite as peachy-keen at Motorola as they have been in the past? Possibly in an effort to improve its business model, Motorola has decided to slim down the number of mobile platforms that it supports.

Currently, Motorola is using no fewer than seven different platforms for its different cell phone models and this is probably running them a little thin in the development department. As such, Motorola plans on bringing everything down to just three platforms to bring the company back to profitability.

Business-minded smartphones will continue to do Windows Mobile, consumer handsets will use the internal P2K system, and a new subset will rely on Google Android. I guess we’re saying goodbye to MOTOMAGX.
