Is the $180 asking price for the T-Mobile G1 a bit much for your budget? Starting tomorrow, you’ll be able to save a few bucks by picking up the hot new smartphone at Walmart. It’s not huge savings, but every penny counts.

As you know, getting the T-Mobile G1 through the regular channels will cost you $179.99 with a qualifying two-year contract. At Walmart, the touchscreen slider will sell for $148.88 instead. It won’t be available in all stores, however, instead landing at 550 select stores across the country.

To be eligible for the $148.88 sticker price, you’ll need to either sign a new contract or be eligible for a hardware upgrade.
