Verizon Wireless is not going to sit idly by as T-Mobile grabs all sorts of attention with the G1 Android phone. In fact, it seems that VZW is countering with no fewer than three new smartphones. This is in addition to the pending release of the BlackBerry Storm.

Starting from the left, you have the Samsung Omnia. It’ll rock the familiar Omnia user interface, but it has been gussied up to better match up with its new Verizon neighbors. In the middle is the HTC Touch Pro, which is also getting offered through Sprint. And on the far right is the Samsung Saga, which is the Epix (touchscreen BlackJack) in a CDMA guise.

This is still in the rumor stages, but there’s word going around that all these touchscreen phones will hit shelves some time next month.
