Many people applaud the power of Opera Mobile. iPhone owners are generally happen with Safari Mobile. And now another web browser is entering the cell phone arena, because we’re on the cusp of getting Firefox Mobile.

John Lilly is the chief executive of Mozilla and he said that the company will be releasing an alpha version of Firefox Mobile “in a few weeks time.” Although I’m slowly migrating my way over to Google Chrome on my laptop, Firefox has been my browser of choice for some time and I couldn’t be happier to hear that Mozilla is going mobile.

“We want to make sure that the Web on mobile is more like the Web than what the mobile industry offers today, which is closed, separate networks and not a very good information-getting experience for the user,” according to Lilly. “The first thing is to bring Firefox to mobile devices. We’re working on that.”
