Everyone and their mother is making a netbook these days, so Toshiba didn’t want to miss out on all the fun. The popular manufacturer officially took the wraps off of its latest creation today, introducing the Toshiba NB100 subnoteook. As you can expect, this little laptop is meant to be small and cheap.

Opting for Linux Ubuntu 8.0.4, the Toshiba netbook gets loaded with the usual slate of features, including an 8.9-inch display (1024×600), Intel Atom N270, either 512MB or 1GB of RAM, up to 120GB HDD, VGA webcam, Wi-Fi, USB, VGA, and Ethernet. The presumably six-cell battery provides up to four hours of life.

Look for the Toshiba NB100 in your choice of black, gold, or silver next month with prices starting at 260 GBP. For Microsoft fans, there is thankfully an option for Windows XP as well.
