The rumours have been swirling around for some time now that Steve Jobs would have an updated MacBook line of notebook computers for us this fall and, if the rumblings are to be believed, these new MacBooks are already shipping to an Apple Store near you.

There are, of course, no official details or specifications at this point, but the rumour-mongers have been able to scrub up some juicy details for us to consider. For starters, it seems that Apple is ditching the glossy plastic in favor of a thin aluminum body, not unlike the MacBook Air. You can also expect an LED-backlit display and an “aggressive entry-level price point.”

If the new aluminum MacBooks are indeed shipping from a Chinese manufacturer right now, it won’t be long before rogue Apple employees start posting spy pics and secret hands-on sessions on the web.
