As summer starts drawing to a close and we look toward the less than pleasant weather of fall and winter, we may feel inclined to get a camcorder that can withstand such conditions. Sanyo is once again coming to the weather-resistant rescue with the arrival of the Sanyo Xacti E2 digital camcorder, the official successor to the Xacti E1.

The extra ounce of weight brings along a healthy sampling of great features as well, including the doubling of the frame rate to 60fps. Never miss any of that stellar fall and winter action, regardless of what Mother Nature may throw at you. That’s because the Sanyo Xacti E2 is waterproof for up to five feet for up to 60 minutes.

Other features include MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 video at 640×480, up to 8 megapixel still image capture, SD memory slot, 5x optical zoom, 2.5-inch flipout LCD, Face Chaser technology, and a new underwater scene mode. Retail price is $399.
