You may have heard about the upcoming update to the Sony PlayStation Portable and how the PSP 3000 is supposed to have a brighter display with better contrast. I hope you’re prepared to pay for it.
No, I don’t mean that the new PSP is any more expensive than the current version, but you’ll be paying for it in battery life. Because you get better contrast and a brighter display, the battery has to work a little harder, so you lose between 20 and 30 minutes of gameplay time. This brings your battery life down to the 3.5 to 4 hour mark.
Thankfully, if you game for a little longer than that, Sony will be bringing back the PSP extended battery. This will load you up with between 8 and 10 hours of action.
