While you may be more familiar with their portable media players, it seems that the good folks at Archos are preparing to branch out just a little. The newly announced Archos 5 and Archos 7 may look like the company’s usual PMPs, but these are actually Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs).

Keeping the model numbering system as simple as possible, the Archos 5 comes equipped with a 5-inch touchscreen display. The web browser is fully Flash compatible, getting you connected through your choice of 3G, 3.5G, or WiFi. When you’re done surfing, the Archos 5 can also be used for music, videos, and pictures too. The 60GB, 120GB, and 250GB models are priced at $350, $400, and $450, respectively.

The Archos 7, as you can probably guess, gets a 7-inch touchscreen display. The rest of the features are much the same as its smaller Archos 5 cousin, but you get to choose between a 160GB or 320GB model for $450 and $550, respectively.
