Many of us may be interested in greener forms of transportation, but we may not necessarily be interested in carpooling or public transit. Sure, it would be nice to have an extra $100,000 kicking around for a Tesla, but the full electric thing just isn’t financially feasible for many of us. Until now… kind of.

AmpedBikes has put together a $360 kit that effectively converts any bicycle (with 26-inch wheels) into a full electric form of transportation. The juice comes from an electric battery and the installation will take a little work on your part, as you can see in the provided video.

When I was in China years ago, I remember seeing an abundance of bicycles equipped with lawn mower engines. I guess full electric is a little better for the environment.

Keep looking. There are better conversion systems on the market now. The e-bike is here to stay!

For the $$ there is no better kit on the market. I am on my 3rd bike from Amped. I cant stop its addicting. I just bought the new geared motor. Waiting to find the perfect bike to install it on.
