It’s all about convergence these days, so having a Mobile Internet Device (MID) that is only capable of surfing the web just doesn’t cut the mustard. The ClarionMiND goes above and beyond the call of MID duty by introducing GPS navigation into the picture.

You may be more familiar with the Clarion name when it comes to car audio, but they’ve got those in-dash DVD players that do GPS, so bringing the navi thing to the world of MIDs isn’t that much of a leap. This isn’t some crippled version of GPS either, because the ClarionMiND offers real-time points of interest and traffic updates as well.

Among the core features are a 4.8-inch WVGA touchscreen, Atom processor, 4GB Flash memory, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, SD card reader, dual USB ports, Linux OS 2.6.22, Google Maps, YouTube Viewer, and Weather Information. Look for the bold red wonder to drop this October.
