Samsung E200 Eco Candybar Loves Environment, Is Extra Corny

Seeing how mobile phone enthusiasts go through new handsets faster than toilet paper, Samsung has created a phone that’s a little more friendly by the time it arrives at the landfill. What sets the Samsung E200 Eco apart from other phones is that its entire outer casing is made from corn-based bioplastics.

Yes, corn. It’s amazing what they can do with that crop, isn’t it? We’re already popping it at movie theatres and using it to create biodiesel for certain vehicles, and now corn is being used to make mobile phones too. Samsung says that the E200 Eco is a milestone in ecological electronics.

The features themselves aren’t quite as impressive. The Samsung E200, complete with green highlights, gets equipped with a 1.3 megapixel camera, alarm, video messenging, and MP3 player.
