By and large, most Bluetooth headsets are pretty much the same. You get a piece that goes into your ear and then there’s a microphone that extends a little closer to your mouth. The trouble with most of these designs is that the mic is actually quite a ways away from the source of your voice.

The Zivio Boom Bluetooth Headset is said to offer “great sound quality”, because the microphone boom extends all the way to where your mouth is. The mic extends in much the same way as an old school cordless phone or, if you prefer, kind of like the headsets that telemarketers and call center people tend to wear. The boom extends from 53.5mm to 137mm.

Aside from the extending mic, you get 10 hours of talk and 300 hours of standby from the 13 gram package. Retail is $130.
