Well, you won’t be the only one to find out at that time, but you do have an opportunity to discover the running mate of Obama “sometime before the convention.” This is because Barack Obama, or at least one of his representatives, will be blasting out a mass text message to anyone who registers with the Obama campaign.

After giving them your cell phone number, the Obama-meisters will get ready to send out an SMS that announces the vice presidential hopeful to go along with the Democratic Presidential hopeful. It’s not terribly innovative, per se, but it’s a good use of real-time technology. I wouldn’t be surprised if the announcement gets filtered through his Twitter account either.

Let’s just hope that the SMS doesn’t get inundated with LOLs, ROFLs, and OMWs.
