Amidst all those blinking slot machines and open drinks on the street, Las Vegas now has something else to offer. T-Mobile has unleashed its next-generation 3G network onto the land known for its legalized prostitution, high stakes gambling, and lavish stage shows.

Las Vegas is only the second city in the United States to get the T-Mobile 3G treatment, following in the footsteps of New York. Naturally, T-Mobile isn’t going to stop at just two towns, so it’s got plans for 3G rollouts in at least 20 additional markets before the end of the year. And yes, before you ask, T-Mobile already has some 3G phones available for your consumption. More will follow too, of course.

To bring its 3G service to Las Vegas, T-Mobile had to invest over $37.5 million in infrastructure and spectrum. The first HSDPA device should be ready to gobble up this extra speed “soon.”
