We got our first official look at the Asus Eee PC 901 at COMPUTEX Taipei in early June and ever since then, we’ve been wondering when we’d be able to finally get our hands on some Atom-powered action. It seems that Asus is following through on the promise they made late last month.

The Asus Eee PC 901 is now officially shipping to the United States, bathing Americans in a sea of 8.9-inch screens and Atom processors. Amazon still has the subnotebook listed as a “coming soon” with no specified shipping date, but you are able to place an order through Newegg.com today. That site even offers 3 business day shipping for $10.99 more.

Available in Galaxy Black or Pearl White, the Asus Eee PC 901 with Windows XP, 1GB RAM, and 12GB SSD sells for $599.99.
