It’s easy to get overshadowed by a certain phone coming out of Cupertino, so if you want to get noticed, you really need to pull out all the stops. Sprint is already doing that YouTube contest, but now Samsung USA is stepping up the plate as well.

There’s a contest going on where, if you provide the best Samsung Instinct-minded haiku, you can win a hot new touchscreen cell phone. Full details can be found through the UseYourInstinct Twitter account, but the long and short of it is that you need to concoct a haiku that talks about “the sense of touch, sight or hearing.” You probably get bonus points for mentioning the Instinct too.

There are three phones being given away in all — Samsung M520, Ace, and Instinct — with the contest closing at noon on July 15. Here’s my entry. I don’t care that I’m not American; I wouldn’t mind a free phone. Now we just have to wait and see what the Canadian Instinct Twitter account does.
