You’ve probably heard of MSI’s answer to the Asus Eee PC, the Wind, but MSI is continuing to ride on Asus’ coat tails with their answer to the Eee Box, the Wind mini-desktop. The components of the device are quite similar to those of the Wind, including the same 1.6Ghz Atom processor and 35W power supply as well as Windows XP, 1GB of RAM (expandable to 2GB), a DVD drive, up to 160GB of storage space and Wi-Fi.

The mini-desktop will be priced between $199 and $299, a great price for anyone who just needs a basic desktop for email, surfing and light media (don’t expect to be watching full 1080p movies on this thing). The device is not planned for a US release, but if the Eee Box (scheduled for a mid-July release) is successful, we can definitely see MSI playing follow the leader.
