The market for affordable digital camcorders is absolutely exploding. We already have the Flip Video and Flip Mino, as well as competitors like the RCA Small Wonder Traveler. The trouble with all of these cheap camcorders is that they top out at VGA resolution. Such is not the case with the DXG-567V. This thing does high-definition.

When DVD quality just won’t do, you may want to turn to the 567v from DXG. The form factor is pretty much the same as the Flip Video and Creative Vado, looking almost like a chunky cell phone with a giant lens on the back. The difference is that the DXG-567V can record 1280 x 720 pixel video at 30 frames a second. The 5-megapixel CMOS sensor is also good for stills, it seems. Data storage comes by way of an SDHC slot.

The DXG-567V is available now for $179.
