Think about that for a moment. The original Eee PC was supposed to be super affordable, remarkably compact, and come with a speedy solid state drive. By contrast, the Eee PC 1000H is not exactly cheap anymore ($650), it’s quite a bit bigger (10-inch display), and it’s got a spinning platter of a hard drive instead of a solid state drive. It’s not really an Eee anymore; it’s basically a regular laptop.
Laptop Mag likes the bigger screen, the improved “audio punch”, the spacious keyboard, and all sorts of other improvements, but is the Eee PC 1000H really an Eee anymore? Maybe if it was cheaper and smaller… wait a minute.
