If you’re looking for an ultra compact and lightweight computer, the Asus G71V is not the notebook for you. Instead, this 17-incher is being targeted directly at hardcore gamers who will be satisfied with nothing less than the best. It is a preview of the Intel Montevina platform and gets powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, and dual SATA hard drives (supports RAID 0/1).

To provide the “ultimate visual experience,” Asus has equipped the G71V with a “quick response-time LCD panel.” Other highlights include nVidia 9700M GT, a gaming keyboard with special key highlights, Dolby home theater, touch sensor design with instant buttons, and an optional hybrid digital TV tuner.

If you happen to be down Taipei way, hop on over to the Asus booth at Computex Taipei and check out this monster of a notebook. You can’t miss the bright red highlights. There’s also a 15-inch version if you want something a little more mobile.
