A new range of USB keys has been announced by Sony Europe’s Recording Media and Energy (RME). The MicroVault Click and Click Excellent USB drives range in capacity from 2GB to 16GB and while the main body of each unit is largely a regular old black, you’ll notice that it has a nice colorful accent near the top.

Offering read transfer speeds as high as 31MB/sec and write speed as high as 11MB/sec, the Sony MicroVault Click drives come with a retractable USB connector. When not in use, you get a larger portion of the colored section, letting you bath in a sea of blue, green, purple, orange, or pink. When it comes time to transfer some data, simply click that section inwards to reveal the USB connector. No more lost caps.

Preinstalled on all the drives is Sony’s Virtual Expander compression software, effectively letting you store up to three times more data on each MicroVault Click. If the black body isn’t your thing, you can opt for the ivory finish of the MicroVault Click Excellence instead. Look for those ranges to launch later this month.
