As you may have noticed, Infiniti seems to have done away with all the FWD cars in its lineup, opting instead to only go rear-wheel or all-wheel-drive. As a result, it would not be fitting to base an Infiniti small premium car on the Sentra or the Versa. The 240SX successor, however, will be RWD and so it could be a perfect fit for a premium small car. There’s even word that it could be offered as a cabriolet at some point.
Power for the Nissan 240SX replacement will come from a variety of four-bangers, producing something in the neighborhood of 220 horsepower. The Infiniti-badged version may get treated to a V6, but it’s also likely that they’ll hop up a 2.0L four-cylinder for something around 300hp. Should the BMW 135i be worried?
