It seems like Verizon is really going to take this “we’re better than iPhone” mentality seriously. They’ve already introduced the LG Voyager with its full face touchscreen and flip out QWERTY keyboard, but that’s not where the touchiness ends. The Samsung Glyde (U940) has officially launched over at Verizon Wireless and touchy QWERTY lovers couldn’t be more pleased.

Taking on a form factor that is similar to many HTC smartphones, the Samsung Glyde has that large touchscreen on the front, a QWERTY keyboard that slides out the side, full HTML web browser, V CAST Music and Video, VZ Navigator, Bluetooth, 2.0 megapixel camera, microSD expansion, and high-speed EV-DO. And it’s quite the looker to boot, especially with that mild silver trim.

The Samsung U940 Glyde is available now for $249 after $50 rebate and the signing of a two-year service agreement.
