While everyone seems to be clamoring over the ultra portability of the Eee PC, Asus is also perfectly capable of producing larger laptops that will attract your attention as well. Today, the Asus G70 gaming notebook was revealed, much to the appreciation of hardcore portable gamers around the world.
The Asus G70 gets powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Extreme processor, which is then backed up by twin 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 8700 GT graphics cards and up to 4GB of DDR2 RAM. Needless to say, this thing is an absolute powerhouse. Other specs include 802.11n Wi-Fi, dual hard drive bays, Blu-ray burner, 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, built-in Altec Lansing stereo speakers, integrated subwoofer (!), embedded TV tuner, and a remote control.
No word on price, but I’d imagine it’ll be just as hefty as this 10.6 pound behemoth. Should Alienware be concerned?
