Chinese Knockoffs Continue With Veptu Luxury Phone

That’s not a typo. Chinese manufacturers are back to their cloning ways again with the unveiling of the Veptu luxury mobile cell phone, clearly taking a page out of the VERTU line from Nokia. The VEPTU might look like the real thing, but it probably costs a fair bit less than the real thing.

Even so, the Chinese company claims (and you can obviously believe them, right?) that the phone has been plated in 18 or 24 karat gold and then you can even opt for a version that gets encrusted in diamonds. The key difference, even if the gold and diamonds are real, is that the VEPTU phone does not come with the VERTU concierge service.

Prices range from $215 to $650.
