Everyone knows that the Apple iPhone is a pretty hot number these days, but I didn’t think that it was this popular. Word is that the iPhone is completely sold out in the United Kingdom and there are no plans to replenish the stock any time soon. The thing is, the lack of stock may not necessarily be representative of a huge demand; it could just represent a tiny supply.

I know what you’re thinking and it’s the same thought that is swirling around in the minds of many Apple fans. The lack of stock of the current Apple iPhone could simply be pointing toward the imminent arrival of its successor, a 3G version of Apple’s popular touchscreen cell phone. Maybe they’re running out of stock of the current model, only to make room for the new one.

In sharp contrast to the supply issues in London, the UK, and the rest of Europe, it seems that Apple stores in the United States are having no trouble keeping up with the demand.
