It’s been delayed, delayed again, and delayed some more. T-Mobile is getting awfully late for the 3G party, but it’s better late than never. The current rumor is calling for a May rollout of T-Mobile’s 3G network.

The launch of the 3G network is not for the entire country, instead getting restricted to a number of large metropolitan areas. The first city to get blanketed in high-speed goodness from T-Mobile will be the Big Apple (New York City), and the rollout will then slowly proceed to other cities.

TmoNews is saying that T-Mobile will have a more formal announcement on this subject next week, so in the meantime, here is a tentative schedule for the T-Mobile 3G network rollout. No dates are attached, but this is the general order.

New York City, Austin, NJ and Long Island, Las Vagas, Minneapolis, Miami, Dallas, Chicago, Houston, Philadelphia, Denver, Detroit, Orlando, Kansas city, Atlanta, Los Angeles, New England, Portland, Sacramento, San Diego, Seattle, Washington DC, San Francisco, Birmingham, Memphis, Tampa, Phoenix.
