Alltel Wireless has announced that they will now be offering the PhotoCopter service by Ontela. With PhotoCopter, camera phone pictures are automatically saved to a customer’s home computer. What’s more, the service also allows for the automatic uploading of snapshots to web photo albums like Flickr, Photobucket, Blogger, and Snapfish.

Because the process is completely automatic, there is no need to press any extra buttons or fiddle with any messy configuration settings. They did not mention if customers would need to physically connect their phones to a computer for the process to happen or if the pictures would be sent wirelessly over the cellular network.

The weird thing is that the PhotoCopter service is only available on the Motorola V3m, V3a, V9m, and ROKR through Alltel Wireless. Talk about kicking it old school! PhotoCopter goes for $2.99 a month.
